Cookie Exchange

I love baking for the holidays, you saw what happened when I was snowed in for two days. My friends and I have started an annual tradition of a Christmas Cookie Exchange. It counts as annual if this is your second year, right?! This year I made Gingerbread Snowflakes. I love these cookies. The recipe is super easy and they always look really pretty. The most time consuming part is frosting them.

IMG_1669Your frosting should be able to run off a spoon. Move icing to a frosting bag with a number 2 tip.

I use clear sugar crystals for my snowflakes. Matt usually assumes the duty of sugarer, it keeps the decorating moving if one person frosts and the other person dips the cookie in the sugar. IMG_1671The finished product!  Martha would be proud!

I pre-packaged my snowflakes for the cookie exchange. It will keep them fresh and they’re easy for the girls to take home.

Wow, those look tasty! How much snow did you guys get, anyway? The ‘great midwest snowstorm’ totally passed us by. We got some, but mostly slush and ice. ugh.
