Griswold Family Trip

Our families have a long tradition of packing the car for family trips. I remember many years of Grandpas and Dads getting up waaaay earlier than the rest of the family to “pack the car.” Packing the car is in fact an art form. How else can you fit 2 adults, 3 kids, a couple of cats and all of the luggage that goes with them into one station wagon? It has taken years to perfect.

Matt and I each bring our own talents to packing the car. I can maneuver all of our luggage to fit into the trunk like a jigsaw puzzle. Matt is quite adaptive with his packing skills. We need to pack the dogs vertically but Lulu kept falling off Lily’s kennel. What to do? Bring in the bungee cord. Now she is safe and sound on the top of her kennel high-rise. Although we’re proud of our skills, we know we’re still in the minor leagues. We don’t have car seats or diaper bags or even a station wagon to deal with!
