Those are the gifts we’ve always gotten from our Grandma when she would visit us. “Just Because Gifts” have included everything from the free gift sets from Clinique, new polos, or other fun trinkets she’s found for us since she’s last visited.
This year I got the mother of all Just Because Gifts. Behold people. A sewing machine! Grandma is downsizing and I am the proud recipient of this fancy pants machine. My Grandpa is slightly peeved since he finally “broke down and bought the woman a sewing machine and she’s only used it 6 times.” Ha! I pinky promised him I would put it to good use.
I can’t wait to try this bad boy out. My craftiness will elevate to new levels! I’ve already signed up for a how-to class in January. I wasn’t sure my Home-Ec skills we’re going to get me through. I know you all are just dying to know what I’m going to make first. Curtains! I’m making curtain panels for the spare room. Stay tuned. I’m sure hilarity will ensue.
