Kitchen Renovation

I thought I would go back through our home remodel projects. A lot of these were started before we were fancy pants bloggers. Unfortunately, that means a lack of photos for each step, but I think it will be fun anyway!
Our kitchen remodel was probably our biggest under taking. Everything needed to be replaced. We had teal green tiles, a roll out dishwasher and horrible blue cabinets.
The first thing we tackled was the cabinets. We painted the outer parts white and the cabinet doors were painted “Trenchcoat Kahki.” The knobs were salvageable so that saved us a little money.
Our second undertaking that morphed into a HUGE project was the floors. We took out the old tile and replaced it with brand new ceramic tile. It was a special order from Home Depot that someone had returned.
It was on super sale to get it sold. Luckily, we didn’t need a lot of square footage-we bought it all. The same tile flows throughout the bathrooms and kitchen. We also added to the fireplace. With our small house, we didn’t want a lot of different floor elements.
While demolishing our old floors we realized that we should just get rid of the cubby hole that was built into the wall to house our now defunct roll out dishwasher. So down came the wall to make room for a new pantry.
Finally our finished product! Here’s what we ended up replacing:
-
Paint, walls and cabinets
-
Ceramic tiles
-
New pantry
-
New Frigidaire appliances
-
Countertop
-
Window treatments- a $12 find at the JCPenny Home Store
-
New lighting

Really nice to see the whole project…
Even better to see it from 1500 miles away.
Any ideas for our kitchen?
