When DIY Goes Wrong

I had great plans for my crafty Christmas gifts for all of the ladies in my family. It was supposed to turn out like this. It didn’t. I bought the soap, the bottles and the glycerin. In my defense, the directions were pretty vague. I bought bars of castille soap and obviously that wasn’t going to fit into my beautiful little bottles. I proceeded to cut up the soap into teeny tiny pieces. I added the water and the glycerin and hoped for the best. Well, the soap was not dissolving. So what did I do? I heated it up on the stove. The soap melted pretty quickly and it looked like perfect bubble bath. I funneled it into my jars and left them to rest. Here’s what I found after a day or so….

The soap re-hardened inside the bottle! I am now stuck with 9 of these. Sorry ladies, you won’t be getting the delightful lavender scented bubble bath I had planned. If anyone knows how to remedy this-do share!

Take a bath and pretend you’re christening a new ship! Bust it over the faucet run the hot water and relax-relax-relax…just watch out for the glass shards!
