My Grandest Trick to Date

I’m trying to tick off all of my project to-dos as our GREAT BIG MOVE inches closer. I’m not sure what kind of area I’ll have to work with spray paint and all that business. I’ve had these chairs for awhile. Ok, like a year. I had to do something with them. Immediately.
*You will ignore the gross stain on my basement carpet. Please and thank you.*
My friend Mel’s Mom was selling them at a garage sale last year for $30 each!! I had to have them. Mel made a valiant effort to keep me from buying them but her attempts were futile. Matt wasn’t impressed with my ability to have a garage sale and come back with a negative balance.
Anyway….
I figured I would paint these bad boys and send them out to be upholstered. I was quoted $185 plus fabric each. I think that’s a pretty good upholstery deal but since I’m cheap frugal I decided (with the help of some convincing gals!) that I should give it a go. If it turns out terribly I can always take it to the upholsterer. Or I could do what my friend Karen suggested.
I’m going to break this project down into a few posts, since it’s going to take awhile. Now that you know the background of these glorious chairs, stay tuned for the big reveal!
