Go Cubs Go

Another to-do checked off our Sand Bucket List. We cheered on the Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium. Matt’s been a Cubs fan forever (I’m just along for the stadium hot dogs). In fact, the summer we met I think he wore his favorite Cubs t-shirt at least once a week. We referred to it as his uniform. See photo below, this was taken on Lido Island off of Venice, Italy. Yep, he packed that sucker for a summer study abroad. Also, please ignore the scruffiness and eye squinty-ness. There was much wine drank (drunk?) on that beach.
Anyway, I scored 2 tickets to Cubs v. Dodgers game a week or so ago. We set out for the big game. I was extra excited since I’ve never been to a major league game. Crazy huh? We were a little nervous to go to the stadium decked out in our Cubs gear but we were in good company. Who knew there were so many Cubbies in LA?
Look! A new shirt for the game! The blue “original” uniform has since been retired to the bottom drawer.
Homerun!
A perfect day for a ball game!
You can’t watch baseball without peanuts. So I’m told.
The cubs won and we weren’t hassled too much by the Dodger fans. After the game we walked out to the parking lot and couldn’t find our car. Seriously. We walked around the stadium about 3 times and couldn’t find it. We were the last of the people in the parking lot. A security guard took pity on us and drove Matt to find the car. There are no pictures of that event. It was ugly. All in all, it was a good day. Bet your britches that next time we go I’m writing down where we parked.
Do you have any exciting game day stories for us?

Ok…
Rule #1 in LA. Always know where you left your car. Rule #2 don’t ever believe what the valet tells you.
If you have a cool car he will be spinning donuts a block over…if you have a Camry he will park it in an alley behind a Chinese restaurant and it will get a ticket (which he will remove and throw in a dumpster)
Happy driving!
