Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

This weekend we decided to be outdoorsy. I’m more of an play inside kind of gal. In fact, I was sent this card in honor of my indoorsiness. I am not ashamed of this trait in the least bit.
Matt loves camping and fishing and all that stuff. After reading our friend’s post about hiking in LA I was convinced this could be a fun adventure.
We set off for the Pacific Palisades Park to hike the Temescal Canyon. The route was marked novice and we were further encouraged by the 5 year olds skipping down the trail. Let me tell you folks, this walk in the park became a two hour test of strength for these city weenies. Even Matt, with all of his boy scout prowess, was sucking wind half way up the mountain.
We finally made it to the top and the view was awesome! Unfortunately, the LA smog kept the ocean view hidden but it was still great. Definitely worth the pitiful looks we were getting from smug passersbys as we clawed our way to the top.
Look Ma! I’m outdoorsy!
The way down was much easier and we even found ourselves vowing to try another hike next weekend. I think we’re going to bring the dogs and tackle the Hollywood Sign Hike and cross that off our Sand Bucket List.
